WATER QUALITY PROBLEM
Water hardness is a set of natural properties of water related to the concentration of calcium and magnesium salts. Although hard water is not harmful to human health, it can pose a serious threat to various appliances, such as washing machines, boilers, dishwashers and pipes, creating precipitation in pipelines and especially on heating elements. Using such water for washing laundry requires more detergent. Water hardness will reduce the quality life of sanitary equipment and increase energy consumption.
Iron and manganese often is observed in groundwater and is one of the main causes of problems in the water supply systems. When water gets in contacts with air, the colour of the water changes to yellowish or brownish and creates hard to clean stains on plumbing equipment - sink, faucet, shower, toilet etc. Because of the metalic taste and odour the water can have, it can cause discomfort and is not pleasant to drink. Household appliances get worn out and the pipes get clogged quicker.
SOLUTION
The solution of these problems for households and production needs is softening by WATEX CMS PLUS series ion exchange resin filters that are regenerated with NaCl. Water softening equipment also effectively reduce iron, manganese and ammonium.
FILTER PERFORMANCE
For recovery of filtration media (ion resins) reagent (NaCl or salt tablets) is used. Wastewaters produced in regeneration processes of equipment in WATEX CMS PLUS can be directly discharged to biological wastewater treatment plant. WATEX CMS PLUS consists of a filter column, control valve and salt tank. The filter column is filled with ion exchange resin (cationic), which reduces hardness and iron concentration in water. The control valve performs automatic regeneration. Salt tank is filled with a reagent (NaCl, salt tablets) for resin regeneration. Capacity of filtration media is calculated according to amount of resins and raw water quality. Remove from water increased iron content up to 15 mg/l.
FILTER CONTROL
WATEX CMS PLUS is equipped with a Clack WSCI1 control valve, with a built-in flow meter that performs filtration media regeneration according to water consumption. Flowmeter saves water and salt used for filter regeneration. The valve can be fitted with a bypass pipeline that allows to perform maintenance works with ease. Control valve saves all information in case of power failure. Equipment has many parameters that can be adjusted according to needs, such as washing time, frequency, reagent consumption, and so on. It is possible to change the water hardness.

EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE
Although the equipment uses salt tablets for regeneration it is safe to use filtered water for drinking and other human needs. It is necessary to provide electricity connection power (one socket), sewerage drainage and incoming / outgoing water supply with minimum pressure of 2.5 bar.
