Equipment characteristics:

  • Continuous operation water softening system. Both filter tanks perform filtration at the same time, but during regenerations half of the maximum water flow rate is provided
  • CMS DUPLEX equipment is used in households, apartment buildings, boiler houses, manufacturing companies, municipalities
  • Filter lifetime more than 10 years
  • High quality components
  • Economical operation
  • Effectively softens, reduces iron, manganese and ammonium content in water
  • Automatic operation and regeneration based on water consumption with brine solution (NaCl)
  • Easy installation and operation
  • Sewer connection is required. Rinsing water can be discharged into the Biological WWTP
  • The device does not remove odour. In addition, WATEX RCMB, CTC or AERO equipment must be installed

WATER QUALITY PROBLEM

Water hardness is a set of natural properties of water related to the concentration of calcium and magnesium salts. Although hard water is not harmful to human health, hard water can affect various plumbing equipment, such as washing machines, boilers, dishwashers and pipes, creating precipitation in pipelines and especially on heating elements. Using hard water for washing laundry or cleaning requires more detergent. Water hardness can reduce lifetime of plumbing equipment and increase energy consumption.

SOLUTION

The solution for improving water quality for operation sites with high water consumption or ensuring continuous water supply and constant water quality over a long period of time is the WATEX CMS DUPLEX water softening systems, which soften the water and remove iron with ion exchange resins that are regenerated with a brine (NaCl) solution.

FILTER OPERATION

The system consists of 2 filter tanks, 2 CLACK control valves and 2 brine tanks. Ion exchange resins are filled inside the pressure tanks, which ensure the reduction of water hardness salts and iron concentration. The control valves automatically conduct filter regenerations. The filter capacity between regeneration is calculated based on the quality of the incoming water and the amount of ion exchange resins. Water flows through both filter tanks at the same time. When regeneration occurs, half of the maximum water flow is maintained through one filter tank while the other is being regenerated. As a result of filtration, sediments accumulate in the filtering material (ion exchange resin). During regeneration, sediments are flushed out of the filter and a brine solution (NaCl) is used to restore the properties of the ion exchange resins. Even though the filter media requires a brine solution during regeneration, the sewage water can be discharged in biological wastewater treatment plants.

FILTER CONTROL

WATEX CMS DUPLEX equipment is equipped with Clack WS CI control valves complete with a built-in water flow meter that performs filter regenerations based on the amount of water consumed. Water consumption accounting reduces salt consumption and the amount of water discharged to the sewer. The equipment can be equipped with a bypass line, thus ensuring simple and operative installation and filter maintenance. The control valve saves all information in the event of a power failure. It is possible to set a number of parameters for the equipment depending on the needs and wishes of consumers. It is possible to adjust the regeneration time, frequency, reagent consumption, water hardness (for certain control valve models) and other parameters.
