Mobile Containerized Water Treatment Plant for Emergency and Humanitarian Use

WATEX MWTP2000 is a fully integrated mobile water purification system built inside a standard 20-foot ISO container. Designed for civil protection, humanitarian response, municipal backup water supply and infrastructure recovery, the system can produce up to 2,000 litres of drinking water per hour from challenging raw-water sources.

This containerized water treatment plant is engineered for lakes, rivers, ponds, canals, brackish water and other raw water of uncertain quality. The final treatment configuration and achievable water quality are confirmed from a raw-water analysis and the drinking-water requirements applicable to the destination country or project.

Rapid Deployment and Autonomous Operation

  • 20-foot ISO container: compatible with standard container transport and handling equipment.
  • Off-grid operation: a petrol generator allows operation where a reliable power grid is unavailable.
  • Plug-and-play deployment: connect the raw-water intake, start the power supply and monitor the automated treatment process.
  • Protected field installation: equipment is housed inside the container for long-term outdoor and demanding-site use.

MWTP2000 Capacity and Key Specifications

  • Nominal purified-water production: up to 2,000 L/h
  • Clean-water storage tank: 5,000 L
  • Water distribution rate: up to 3,000 L/h
  • Expected service life: more than 10 years with correct operation and scheduled maintenance

Actual production capacity, recovery rate and maintenance intervals depend on raw-water composition, temperature, operating conditions and the selected treatment configuration.

Multi-Stage Water Purification Process

  1. 90-micron pre-filtration removes larger suspended particles.
  2. Sand filtration reduces fine sediment down to approximately 1 micron.
  3. Activated-carbon filtration reduces organic compounds, oil residues, unpleasant taste and odour.
  4. Reverse osmosis reduces dissolved salts, heavy metals and a broad range of chemical and microbiological contaminants.
  5. Optional treatment modules include UV disinfection and antiscalant dosing.

Depending on the agreed configuration and operating conditions, the complete multi-stage process can reduce a wide range of contaminants by up to 98%. WATEX confirms the required pre-treatment and polishing stages after reviewing the source-water analysis.

Applications

MWTP2000 is intended for organisations that need a dependable, transportable drinking-water source where permanent infrastructure is unavailable, damaged or overloaded:

  • humanitarian aid and disaster-relief operations;
  • municipal emergency and civil-protection water supply;
  • temporary camps, field facilities and remote worksites;
  • infrastructure restoration after floods, storms, earthquakes or conflict;
  • international development and resilience projects.

Factory-Assembled Delivery Package

Each MWTP2000 unit is assembled, filled and tested before shipment. The project package can include:

  • PE or PVC process piping with flow meters, sample points and control valves;
  • an English-language operating manual;
  • a project-specific set of spare parts, consumables and reagents;
  • 5-litre water bags for distribution to end users;
  • replaceable components such as activated-carbon media and UV lamps.

Operation, Training and Maintenance

The system is intended for trained technical personnel who can monitor operating parameters and manage raw-water, fuel and consumable supplies. Routine work includes generator refuelling, filter-media replacement, UV-lamp replacement and antiscalant replenishment where these modules are included. WATEX can define the recommended spare-parts and consumables package for the expected operating period.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much drinking water can MWTP2000 produce?

Nominal production is up to 2,000 litres per hour. Actual output depends on raw-water quality, temperature, membrane operating conditions and the selected configuration.

Which raw-water sources can the plant treat?

The system is designed for surface water from lakes, rivers, ponds and canals, as well as brackish or other water of uncertain quality. A laboratory analysis is required to confirm the appropriate treatment stages.

Can the system operate without grid electricity?

Yes. A petrol generator supports autonomous operation. The final electrical and fuel arrangement is confirmed during project engineering.

Who typically uses a containerized water purification system?

Typical users include municipalities, civil-protection and emergency-response teams, humanitarian organisations, infrastructure contractors and operators of temporary or remote facilities.

How do I request a technical proposal and price?

Send WATEX the raw-water analysis if available, water-source type, project country and site, required daily drinking-water volume, applicable water-quality standard, operating conditions and requested delivery date. Our specialists will prepare a project-specific configuration, quotation and international transport plan.
