Water quality problems and solutions

Arsenic comes from geochemical medium and can exist in form of two ions: As3+ and As5+. Arsenic is a poisonous element and As3+ form is more poisonous than As5+ form and harder to reduce in the water. Arsenic when swallowed may cause serious health problems such as skin cancer and some other organ diseases.

Arsenic usually can be found into compounds containing iron ions and can be precipitated together with iron. If the water contains iron less than needed to remove all arsenic, the iron concentration can be increased using FeCl3 or FeSO4 and iron oxide granulates as filter material. Arsenic can be also removed from the water using pressure filter with medium based on Fe(OH)3.

Pressure filter solutions WATEX RCTB or FA type.
